Why New 2027 GMCs May Be Harder to Find

Good news if you’re shopping for a new GMC anywhere around Milwaukee, Greenfield, Oak Creek, West Allis, Franklin, South Milwaukee, Cudahy, or Caledonia: 2026 inventory is strong at both of our Milwaukee-area Kunes stores. GMC’s 2027 lineup is also taking shape, headlined by a fully redesigned Sierra 1500, while the rest of the lineup moves through a normal, on-schedule changeover. Here’s a quick look at what’s changing for 2027, and why there’s plenty to love about 2026 inventory in the Milwaukee area right now.

Across the GMC lineup, 2027 production is moving through a normal, on-schedule changeover. The 2027 Sierra HD begins production in November, the 2027 Yukon and Yukon XL start in September, and the 2027 Terrain and 2027 Acadia are both already rolling. The 2027 Canyon carries over with only minor updates, and GMC hasn’t confirmed whether one optional engine upgrade lands with the 2027 launch or waits for 2028. None of that points to a shortage. If anything, GMC’s 2027 lineup is in better shape than some other brands this year.

The headline for 2027 is the fully redesigned Sierra 1500, arriving before the end of 2026 with new sixth generation small block V8 engines, an expanded Denali Ultimate trim, and a refreshed interior and exterior. It’s a genuinely new truck, not just a trim shuffle, and GMC is on track to have it in showrooms before Ford’s next generation F-150, which has been pushed back to 2028.
